My name is Lisandra and I welcome you to Ethically Inaru, where I honor history and our environment through high-quality, ethically sourced, handcrafted jewelry. With over 20 years of hands-on experience (and a lifetime of dreaming), I’ve turned a childhood obsession with sparkle and shine into a full-fledged art.
Growing up in the vibrant streets of Newark, New Jersey, I used to imagine myself draped in layers of glittering necklaces, earrings, and bangles—far more than any sensible person would wear! But those dreams fueled my creativity until one day, someone showed me how to bring my imagined pieces to life. Now, I get to turn those daydreams into reality and share my passion with you.
My Mission
To create beautiful, empowering, high quality, unique jewelry pieces while contributing to a sustainable future. I am committed to producing unique, culturally inspired designs made from ethically sourced materials with consideration for its environmental and social impact on both human and wildlife.
My Values
My Commitment
To work with companies that rigorously monitor their supply chains and share my commitment to ethical sourcing and greater sustainability.
A Call to Action
Let's stand for equity, humanization, and sustainability. Join me in honoring the past and contributing to a better future through jewelry that makes a difference.
A portion of the profits will go to The Hope and Safety Alliance in Eugene, Oregon. This organization has been supporting survivors of domestic violence for over 45 years: hopesafetyalliance.org.
I’naru means “spirit of woman” in the Taino language used by the Taino tribes of Boriken, now known as Puerto Rico. This is where I was born.
I use this name as a tribute to the courageous Taino Cacique women warriors who valiantly resisted the colonization by Spaniards. These women fought against the brutal exploitation and enslavement imposed upon their people, who were forced to work in plantations and mines under terrible conditions. Many perished due to enslavement, massacre, and disease. Ethically Inaru is a remembrance of their strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit.
